CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

This past weekend (March 19-20) the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, GA .  The event consisted of a welcome party Friday night at the Mellow Mushroom followed by a flight Saturday morning and glow Saturday night.  The party was a good time as everyone enjoyed complimentary pizzas and the opening round of the NCAA tournament.  Saturday morning brought cool temperatures and light winds so Event Director, Scott McClinton called a Hare and Hound, and 13 hounds proceeded to chase Tim Basey in the "Rocket".  Taking home the top three places were (1) Chase Donner (2) Anthony Seeger (3) Ray Donner.  Later that night the winds calmed down just in time to get a spectacular glow off for the thousands of locals in attendance for the event on the Macon State College campus.  All in all it was a great way to start the year and knock the rust off the balloons for the upcoming flying season.
