Great Lakes Regional Championship - Frankenmuth, MIThis weekend marks the third consecutive year that Frankenmuth, MI will play host to the Great Lakes Regional Championship. World Championship Deputy Director, Maury Sullivan, will again be calling the shots this year (weather permitting)! Last year mother nature was the dictator for the weekend and no champion was named because the weekend events were cut short by the inclement weather. The Great Lakes Regional features a host talented pilots as defending Champion (2010) Jeff Pestun, returns to again defend his title. He'll be taking on two-time National Champion, Paul Petrehn, 2012 Team USA member Andy Baird, and a host of other top notch pilots in Shawn Raya, Larry Coan, and Dave Champion. The good news for the pilots is it doesn't appear that they will need their rain gear and hoodies….it might get up into the 90s on Friday and will be solidly in the 80s most of the weekend with a little bit of wind to contend with. It looks to be the same competitive event that competitors enjoyed in 2010! Updates and pictures will be up as we get them. |
